📖 Overview
This addon brings full offhand functionality to Minecraft PE/BE, allowing you to use items from your offhand slot just like in Java Edition. The addon features a clean, readable codebase with comprehensive item support and intuitive controls.
🎮 How to Use
Basic Controls
- Double-crouch (sneak twice quickly) – Swap items between main hand and offhand
- Sneak + Right-click on blocks – Use offhand items for specific interactions
Installation
- Download the
.mcpackfile - Open it with Minecraft PE/BE
- Enable the addon in your world settings
- Make sure “Holiday Creator Features” and “Beta APIs” are enabled
✅ Supported Items in Offhand
🛡️ Always Allowed Items
These items can always be placed in the offhand:
- Shield – Full defensive functionality
- Filled Map – Navigation and exploration
- Firework Rocket – Flight and celebration
- Totem of Undying – Death protection
🏗️ Placeable Items
Items that can be placed from the offhand:
- Carved Pumpkin – Wearable and placeable
- Flint and Steel – Fire starting (with durability support)
🌾 Farming & Food Items
- Seeds (wheat, carrot, potato, beetroot, melon, pumpkin, torchflower)
- Bone Meal – Crop growth acceleration
- Food items – When used on farmland for planting
🪣 Interactive Items
- Bucket – Milk cows and mooshrooms from offhand
- Gold Ingot – Trade with piglins from offhand
❌ Restricted Items
The following items CANNOT be placed in the offhand for balance and gameplay reasons:

- Swords, Axes, Tridents, Maces
- Bows, Crossbows
- Any weapon with durability or enchantments

- Pickaxes, Shovels, Hoes
- Shears, Fishing Rods
- Any tool with durability
🧪 Complex Items
- Potions (all types)
- Shulker Boxes
- Items with enchantments
- Experience bottles
🎒 Utility Items
- Leads, Name Tags, Clocks, Compasses
- Spyglasses, Bottles, Maps
- Snowballs, Wind Charges
- Ender Pearls, Ender Eyes
- Various crafting materials (sticks, feathers, etc.)

🐄 Entity Interactions
- Cow Milking: Hold bucket in offhand, interact with cow
- Mooshroom Milking: Same as cows, works with mooshrooms
- Piglin Trading: Hold gold ingot in offhand, interact with piglin
🌱 Farming Support
- Plant seeds directly from offhand on farmland
- Use bone meal from offhand on crops
- Automatic item consumption and sound effects
🔥 Fire Starting
- Use flint and steel from offhand
- Proper durability handling
- Place fire on block surfaces
🎨 Smart Logic
- Prevents food items from being swapped (except seeds on farmland)
- Maintains item durability and data values
- Proper item stacking and consumption
- Visual and audio feedback

🐛 Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Items disappearing when swapping:
- This has been fixed in v1.2 – update to the latest version
Addon not working:
- Ensure Beta APIs are enabled in world settings
- Check that Holiday Creator Features are enabled
- Restart the world after enabling the addon
Can’t swap certain items:
- Check the restricted items list above
- Some items are intentionally blocked for balance
Double-crouch not working:
- Make sure you’re crouching twice quickly (within 10 ticks)
- Try adjusting your timing – it should be a quick double-tap
