The Sift Dimension Addon is a free Minecraft Bedrock add on that adds an entirely new custom dimension. The world is built from vast floating islands suspended over the void. Terrain includes open plains, steep cliffs, valleys, and large mountain formations. The dimension generates progressively as you explore, so new areas appear while you travel.
It features its own fog, ambient particles, custom vegetation, and a distinct color palette that feels different from the Overworld, Nether, or End. Large Sift forests grow across the islands with thick trunked trees and broad canopies inspired by the official Minecraft Live designs. The overall mood is mysterious and otherworldly while still feeling playable and fun for survival.
The creator has made the addon available on CurseForge and on the official TRMC Add Ons website. Both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack are required for the full experience.
How to Enter The Sift
There are two main ways to reach the dimension.
Survival method
- Explore the Deep Dark until you find an Ancient City.
- Locate the large reinforced deepslate frame at the center of the city.
- Clear away all sculk and any other blocks that fill the inside of the frame.
- Use flint and steel to light the bottom of the opening.
- Wait for the animated Sift Portal texture to fill the frame.
- Walk through the portal to enter The Sift.
The portal detects frames facing either the X or Z direction. The interior can range from 2 to 21 blocks wide and 3 to 21 blocks tall as long as the reinforced deepslate base, sides, and top are complete.
Command method
Type /the_sift:travel in chat. This instantly sends you into The Sift. Running the same command while inside the dimension returns you to your previous location.
In Creative mode you can also obtain the portal block directly with /give @s the_sift:sift_portal.
What You Will Find Inside The Sift
The dimension is built around floating islands that stretch outward as you explore. You will notice custom turquoise fog and soft ambient particles floating in the air. The sky stays bright with clear weather and no visible clouds in the current version, giving the place a calm yet alien feeling.
Large Sift forests cover many of the islands. These trees use custom logs and leaves and create a distinctive silhouette against the open sky. The ground is covered with Sift Grass in several variations including light and short grass that can appear in different orientations for extra visual variety.
Sift Rabbits spawn naturally across the islands. They look different from normal rabbits, behave similarly, and can be bred with carrots or golden carrots. Their presence adds life to the otherwise quiet landscape.
In version 0.3 the addon also generates Ancient Sift ruins that appear with random rotations. A portal structure generates near the player’s arrival point so you always have a way back.
New Blocks and Building Materials
The addon introduces a growing set of blocks that match the dimension’s style:
- Sift Stone
- Sift Grass, Light Sift Grass, and Short Sift Grass
- Sift Logs and Sift Leaves
- Sift Portal
Version 0.3 expanded the set with full building options:
- Sift Stone Bricks, stairs, and slabs
- Sift Stone stairs and slabs
- Sift Planks, stairs, slabs, and fences
These blocks come with crafting recipes using the crafting table and stonecutter. They also appear in a dedicated Creative inventory group so they are easy to find. The stone and wood sets let you build bases and structures that feel native to The Sift.
Exploring The Sift
Bring plenty of building blocks and food when you first enter. The floating islands mean falls into the void are a real risk. Place temporary bridges or build safe platforms as you explore.
The progressive generation means the first few minutes in a new area can feel empty while terrain finishes loading. Keep moving and the world will fill in around you.
Sift Rabbits are peaceful and easy to breed, making them a useful early food source if you settle in the dimension for longer stays.
Use the arrival portal as a reliable exit point until you build your own return portal elsewhere.
How to Install The Sift Dimension Addon MCPE
- Download both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack from CurseForge or the official TRMC Add Ons website.
- Import both packs into Minecraft Bedrock.
- Create a new world or open an existing one.
- Activate both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack.
- Enable any experimental features the game requests if needed.
- Enter the world and follow the portal steps or use the travel command.
